EEPIS-Online, Ramadan is the month when the Holly Qur’an was given to the Messenger; Muhammad S.A.W. and also time to care and help the others. This moment was used by EEPIS BEM; cooperated with UKKI, to hold a braking fast on Wednesday (16/9) with the orphans from Panti Asuhan Darussalam at Jalan Tegal Mulyorejo Baru 71 Surabaya.
According to the chief of committee; Choirul Umul Islamistudent of
class 2 D3 Telkom B, this event is the first agenda from Departemen
Pengabdian Masyarakat EEPIS BEM. “As a new department, this is the
first agenda which we will hold in this Ramadan,†he said.
Before
the breaking fast time, the committee had held drawing competition.
This competition had been followed by 34 orphans enthusiastically.
After the competition, the next was greeting speeches. The first speech
was by the chief of EEPIS BEM; Unis Badri, and the second was by the
chief of UKKI; Iskandar R.
“While waiting for the breaking
fast time, we hold a dictation competition about religious knowledge as
an amusement,†Umul said.
According to Umul, this event is to
give positive things to the students in their spare time and also give
some advantages for them.
Furthermore, Umul explained that
the purpose of visiting the orphan house is to open the students’ eye
and give them awareness and care the others.
The main agenda;
breaking the fast, was started when Maghrib time. After breaking the
fast, the next agenda was to announce and give the prize to the winner
of drawing and dictation competition. The event was finished at Isya’.
