EEPIS Online, (04/08) This morning, EEPIS campus seems crowded by about 200 students’ final projects in EEPIS new building room sides and corridor. Beside for introducing the EEPIS students’ final projects, this event is held to develop the students’ confidence of their creations. These final projects were had been tested and presented in front of the examinator. In some departments, robotic and automatisation still become a trend although there are also some students who are developing Global Disaster Management System (GDMS); such as Wildan who made the visualization of 3 dimensions and Geographic Information System Interface Multitouch.

Wildan made a replacement of mouse and keyboard in computer that ideally can only do an event in one time. But with the device made by Wildan, photo and image applications can be easier to process because 2-3 fingers are used all at once, such as in zooming, stretching, rotating, etc. (photo 1 attached)

It’s different from the final project by Rudi Prasongko and Eka Kartika; Ngonthel for Speed. Those two students who are in Telecommunication Technology made a static bicycle be more interesting with the heartbeat censor and burned and suggested burned calorie counter. Not only that, they also added 3 dimension visualization of cycling environmental conditions that can be selected according to riders’ taste; such as garden, forest, and dam atmosphere where there are also rise and fall as well as additional music that will accompany the riders.

There are also a lot of final projects in game theme, including a game hitting naughty insects and war game to get the freedom which is using Surabaya language. Game named “Soerabaja 45” by Risky Agri Syafindra has 3 levels. The highest level is a war in Yamato Hotel or commonly known as Oranye Hotel setting; when the player completes the game it will be shown by the torn flag incident like in the real war history 64 years ago.

Ir. Dadet Pramadihanto, M.Eng, Ph.D.; EEPIS Director accompanied by Drs. Miftahul Huda, MT, 3rd Assistant of EEPIS Director in collegiate field, said that they are satisfied with the EEPIS students’ creations. Moreover he advised that these creations should be more developed so that can be useful for the environment. The elements of the assessment by the jury are Innovation, Creativity, Applications and cooperation with industry partners. The visitors who mostly student and from industrial said that they are very interested with those EEPIS final projects.

The committee has prepared some awards to the champions. Starting from an award in certificate form until coaching money; Rp 800.000 for the 1st champion, Rp 600.000 for the 2nd champion, Rp 400.000 for the 3rd champion, Rp 200.000 for the next rank, and Rp 200.000 for the last rank for each department.
