EEPIS Online, Be the Greatest Generation as the theme, IT Department’s students hold Welcome and Farewell Party which is held on Friday, October 9, 2009, at 4:30 pm until finish and located in EEPIS’s basketball courts.
This event is held regularly every year by the Department of Senor (arts and sports) HIMA IT. The work programs this year also attended by several lecturers of IT. Anna Fariza as Chairman of the Department of IT could be present and gave a speech and appreciation to the students.
When the sunset prayer (Isl. Magrib) arrived, the event is postponed for a moment to run the sunset prayer. After the prayer, the new IT students 2009 performed some entertainments. They showed the musical, and other choirs. Musical entertainment which presented by 1st grade student D4 IT B was getting applause from the audience. They seemed very confident and explore their roles respectively. No wonder the applause, shouts and laughter echoed through the crowd on the basketball court.
Farewell or graduation of graduates’ candidate is performed symbolically by cutting Tumpeng (Indonesia. Yellow rice which is formed cone). A lecturer and graduate candidate cut the Tumpeng as release process of Students 2006 and 2005. Next, the event continued with a meal together.
After the farewell, the committee held games. "Games aims to unite all the students of IT and establish a new closeness between the new students and the old students", said Septian Joseph, 2nd grade students D4 IT B as chairman of the committee.
The event ended. The closing of this event was shaking hands to each other or we can say Halal bi Halal (Isl. ask and give forgiveness at the end of the fasting period).
