EEPIS-Online, For three days (13-15 January 2011), the ESC team which is a combination of South Korean students and Indonesia (PENS) apply their ideas that have successfully won the event Engineering Services Idea Competition 2010. With funding from the government of South Korea amounted to 100 million won (about 800 million dollars), this project can be applied in Indonesia. This team consisted of 16 Korean students and 8 students PENS. Each team has 1 staff and 1 supervisor.
Before they apply their ideas in Indonesia, they have training and workshops at Pusan National University (PNU), Bussan – South Korea. PENS send 8 studends to became the representatives for this workshop. The event was not only attended by students from PNU and PENS, but also followed by students from other universities (Consorisium Students) who also won the event, Engineering Services Idea Competition 2010 in Korea.
According to Prof. Jae Weon Choi, the objectives or this program are to make the involved students (PNU and PENS students) be global citizens by serving to the society dan to make a stronger and deeper friendship between two countries, South Korea and Indonesia. In addition to students, lecturers from PNU and PENS are also involved in this project. They were assigned to assist students in preparation and making of the project. (dip)
