EEPIS-Online, The robot team who is Barelang 5.1 from Batam State Polytechnic has become as the first winner Indonesian Robot Contest category in the National Robot Contest 2011 in Graha Sabha Pramana, Gadjah Mada University, Yogyakarta. As the first winner in the most prestigious class, this team has the right to represent Indonesia in the international level Robot Contest Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union Robocon 2011 in Bangkok, Thailand on September 9, 2011.
In the final category Indonesian Robot Contest (KRI), 5.1 Barelang robot team to deal with defending champion P-Next robot team from Surabaya State Polytechnic Electronics. Both teams fought fiercely in arranging a bouquet of flowers (Krathong) on the candle base and put it on the river surface.
Until the second end of the game, both teams managed to collect points at the 242 points. However, the jury chaired by Wahidin Wahab provide penalties to both teams so that the value of each team deducted 20 points to a total of 222 points. Both teams get a penalty because the robot was on the river surface when menyusung Krathong.
"Because of they have same points, ie 222 points, then we determine the winner based on the remarks of time in which the team Barelang 5.1 takes 2 minutes 55 seconds and P-Next team takes 2 minutes 59 seconds, so we decided 5.1 Barelang team win," said Wahidin , Sunday (06/12) during the final of the National Robot Contest 2011 in Graha Sabha Pramana, University of Gadjah Mada (UGM) in Yogyakarta.
