EEPIS-Online (16/11), Winning Kontes Robot Cerdas Indonesia(KRCI) humanoid division for many times. Being the only one as a representative from Indonesia and show off on Robocup competition in Mexico this year. Even in international competitions, he also succeed in defeat robot Mexico, Britain and Germany to go into the final round. It was amazing achievement. But apparently, the number of these achievements do not make EROS (EEPIS Robo Soccer) satisfied. It has proven that two days ago PENS got surprised with EROS video dancing in Gangnam Style that uploaded in youtube.
That are PENS student, Azhar Aulia Saputra, Al-Farouq dan Amirul Huda who programmed EROS to dance Gangnam style. Gangnam style is a 2012 K-pop single which is sung by South Korean rapper, Park Jae Sang, known as PSY. Style Gangnam generally praised by criticus as a catchy rhythm humor and PSY s unusual dance moves for introducing K-pop on many people around the world.
It s on the plan that EROS capability will be brought to Korea in order Education Engineering Festivals in Seoul on November 20 to 27 2012. In the demo, EROS looked nimble in Gangnam Style dancing robot. EROS which was originally a soccer robot, programmed with the addition of sound sensors in his ears.
According to Azhar, one of EROS programmer, at least we need 0ne week to learn Gangnam moves and 2-3 weeks to synchronize the moves. When he asked about the difficulties, he said that it s difficult enough. "The difficulties shows when we we have to make the robot move and dance well with Gangnam Style. Gangnam style itself have the similiarity with ,"horse dance" which has been done very attractive by PSY. This moves is really difficult for robot" said Azhar.
The same thing had been said by the lecture adviser, Akhmad Subhan Kh., ST, MT. According to Subhan, the biggest challenge until now is how to make the robot jump. Different with human, Robot s legs can be broken and damaged if the programmer set the wrong program.
"The robot has 3 kg weight and must be supported by a strong and stable legs. Stability is the most important, where the robot can maintain the posture while all movements can be done in rhythm," said Subhan.
Although at the first sight the robot has dance well, but the robot s motion can not be said as a perfect moves. "If we forced the motion just the same with the original, the robot will have some problems. We are still improving and developing some movement through the research before next week, before we have to go to Korea," he said.
This is the first time for PENS to participate in Engineering Education Festival in Korea. The Popularity of Gangnam style in this "gingseng" country, gives an idea for the team to pick a theme of the exhibition in addition to the theme Robot Education. (and/sat)
