Super Wifi Seminar, Present One and Only Technology in Indonesia

EEPIS-Online (16/12), The development of wireless technology virtually invisible for long time. During this time, the wireless technology is implemented in the form of wifi facility. Wifi technology that we feel for this time still gives the inconvenience on the user. For example, a user must login by entering a special password to be able to use the wifi. Tackling these constraints, the Ministry of Research and Technology Student Association PENS held a Telecommunications seminar Super Wifi.

Super Wi-Fi technology supports EAP-SIM (Extensible Authentication Protocol – SIM), a technology that allows users to connect to a Wi-Fi without filling in username and password (seamless), but simply use the SIM card which is still in the active period.

Seamless technology can be used for handset that supports EAP-SIM technology, which is currently handset that supports EAP-SIM technology is Blackberry (OS 5, OS 6, OS 7), iPhone (4S), iPad (3G Wi-Fi) , Nokia (E series), Android (Huawei Media Pad), and will grow even more in line with technological developments.

This time, HIMA hook Telkom Indosat Mega Media (IM2) as the promoter and fill the material because only Indosat which is the only provider in Indonesia that have ensuite facilities Super WiFi. The event was held on Sunday morning (16/12), starting at 8:30 to 12:30 pm.

This seminar is an annual program of the Student Association of Telecommunications at the Ministry of Research and Technology. With the theme of advanced technology , HIMA Telkom always choose the update theme for each year. Located at Theatre Building PENS, the enthusiasm of the participants seemed present at this event. The event was attended by approximately 105 participants are guided by Sri Priyo Hutomo as the General Manager of East Regional IM2 comes as the main performers.

The goals of this are all students PENS. But many telecommunication engineering students dominate here. "This activity aims to meet the needs of students in addition to the course material. This is both an effort in understanding the development of today s technology," said executive chairman of this event, Ahmad Muharom.

When met after the material presented, Utomo expressed hope after the completion of this activity. "Students can understand the latest technological developments. Fact that we can invent coorporation between IM2 with PENS future, in building and developing technology PENS super wifi on campus," he said.

"It s fun, but it was too fast at the beginning of the explanation, but the longer it can be really communicative. Though much of the science that is taboo for me, but I hope this knowledge can be useful for my academic life in the next term," said Dian Neipa Purnamasari as seminar participants.

After this seminar, the IM2 will continue to hold publishing program through seminars and training. Hopefully the presence of the new technology can be useful and able to address the challenges of tomorrow s technology.
